REAL LIFE.
I have completed a large amount of documentary work including an in depth study of horse racing and the racecourse as a microcosm of society. This piece can be seen as an anthropological study of people rather than a fine art piece. However, i feel it is important that the work remains aesthetically pleasing and visually stimulating. Other real life work documents the way i live and the people around me.
These images are from a piece which carefully documents people at the racecourse. I see the racecourse as a microcosm of society and am fascinated by the way that people behave in this environment. The final piece was shown in an exhibition between the 20th and 24th June 2006 and consisted of several stills accompanied by a short film. All of the components of the exhibition culminated in a portrayal of my view of the racecourse as a wondrous and really fascinating world. The film and pictures are personal to my view of the racecourse andl include studies of high and low culture as well as the eccentricity of people within this environment.
